X490U & S490U Multimedia LCD Projectors
WELLINGTON, 8 January, 2002 - Melco New Zealand Ltd has pleasure in announcing the arrival
of the eagerly awaited X490U & S490U Multimedia LCD Projectors from Mitsubishi Electric, Japan.
With the brightness of 2600 ANSI lumens, the versatile X490U & S490U LCD projectors are perfect
for presentations anywhere, anytime. The X490U offers true XGA (1024 x 768 pixels) resolution
whilst the S490U is true SVGA (800 x 600 pixels) resolution. Both models feature Mitsubishi's
exclusive award winning ColorView TM Natural Color Matrix, are compliant with Microsoft's sRGB
colour profile and provide movie quality video for dazzling presentations. Picture-In-Picture
allows 2 images to be viewed simultaneously in movable, sizable windows. Weighing 6.9 kgs both
models can easily travel or be installed for front, rear or ceiling mount applications.
A two-year warranty applies in addition to Melco's unique Emergency Roadside Assistance,
which provides a free loan replacement projector within 24 hours, in the unlikely event of failure.

Easily integrated into boardrooms or lecture theatres using its RS232C control, both models are
at home in virtually any environment particularly when high ambient light is a problem. The
operation of the projector is very simple through the use of an intuitive on screen menu and
easy to use plug & play connections.
The X490U & S490U are part of a new range of projectors available from Mitsubishi over the
next 6 months. In addition to Mitsubishi's current LCD technology, the Electronics giant
has recently announced plans to introduce new products using Texas Instruments Digital Light
Processing Technology. Mitsubishi will manufacture its own light engines and source the DLP
chips from Texas Instruments. This strategy further demonstrates Mitsubishi's commitment to
providing high quality images for large screen displays.
